Working Farm Environment

High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm is a fully operational working farm. As such, there are open dams, machinery, and various farming activities taking place. For your safety and the safety of others:

- Supervision of Children: Children must be supervised at all times while on the farm. Open dams and machinery can pose hazards, and it is essential that children are kept within sight and under close watch to prevent accidents.

Farm Dogs

We have several dogs on the farm that play a crucial role in protecting our farm animals. These dogs are a beloved part of our farm family and are known for their friendly and loyal nature.

- Barking: Our dogs may bark to alert us to the presence of visitors or to protect the farm animals. Please do not be alarmed; barking is a part of their natural behavior.

- Friendly and Non-Aggressive: While our dogs are vigilant protectors, they do not bite and are very friendly towards our guests. They are accustomed to interacting with people and are always ready to welcome new friends.

No Pets Allowed

To maintain the safety and wellbeing of our farm animals and to preserve the balance of our farm’s ecosystem, we kindly ask that guests do not bring pets onto the property.

Accessibility

High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm Tours are open to people of all ability/mobility levels.

There is onsite parking near the front gate of the market garden (the first stop in our Farm Tour) where people of all ability levels can disembark. The majority of the tour is carried out on grounds that are flat and accessible to people of all fitness levels, ability levels, as well as for people in wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

There are some sections of the tour that may be difficult for people in wheelchairs – such as in the Food Forest – however other options can be provided for those people while the main tour visits those areas. Please let us know in advance if you have special requirements in terms of mobility. Assistance animals are welcome to come into the market garden and Food Forest areas, as long as they stay on a lead.

There are parts of the garden that we do not walk on (such as garden beds) hence animals need to be kept on a lead at all times and guided to stay on the paths.
